Texas Probate Paralegal (Remote | 1099 Contract Position) Company: Streamline Paralegal Services Location: Remote Position Type: Remote 1099 Contract Position About Streamline Paralegal Services: Streamline Paralegal Services partners with law firms throughout Texas to provide high-level legal support. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Texas Probate Paralegal to join our team. While this is a 1099 contract position, we are looking for a long-term team member who takes ownership of their work, collaborates well with others, and wants to play a meaningful role in helping our law firm clients succeed. About the Role: One of our primary clients has an active Texas probate practice, and we are seeking an experienced probate paralegal who can take ownership of those matters and help drive them forward. This is not an entry-level position, and it is not a role where every task will be assigned step-by-step. We are looking for someone who can step into existing probate files, assess where each matter stands, identify what is missing, determine the next steps, draft the necessary documents, and proactively move cases toward completion. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary probate support professional on these matters and work closely with the Streamline team while exercising sound judgment and operating with minimal supervision. Responsibilities:

  • Review probate files and determine current case status
  • Identify missing documents, outstanding requirements, and next steps
  • Draft probate pleadings and supporting documents
  • Prepare probate applications, notices, inventories, affidavits, heirship pleadings, muniment of title pleadings, and related filings
  • Monitor court activity and case progress
  • Track deadlines and important dates
  • Maintain organized electronic files within Clio Manage
  • Utilize Form Builder for document preparation and automation
  • Communicate updates, issues, and recommendations proactively
  • Help ensure probate matters continue moving forward efficiently

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Texas probate experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage Texas probate matters from opening through closing
  • Strong probate drafting skills
  • Experience preparing probate applications, notices, inventories, heirship pleadings, muniment of title pleadings, and related documents
  • Proficiency with Clio Manage
  • Experience using Form Builder
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong attention to detail

  • What has been done?
  • What is missing?
  • What needs to happen next?

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, thinks proactively, and can move probate matters forward without requiring constant direction.
