About arenaflex

arenaflex is a leading health‑focused organization dedicated to delivering personalized, convenient, and affordable care to millions of people across the United States. Our mission is built on a simple yet powerful promise: “Bringing our heart to every moment of your health.” This promise drives every interaction, from the front‑line support staff to the senior leadership team. As the health‑care landscape evolves, arenaflex continues to innovate, leveraging technology, data, and a human‑centric approach to make a real difference in the lives of patients, partners, and communities.

Our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy is a critical component of this mission. It provides life‑sustaining specialty medications to patients who need complex, high‑cost therapies. By joining arenaflex, you become part of a collaborative, purpose‑driven team that values empathy, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Why This Role Matters

Patients who rely on specialty drugs often face unique challenges: intricate insurance requirements, high copays, and the need for precise medication handling. As a Remote Customer Service Representative for arenaflex’s Specialty Pharmacy, you will be the trusted voice that guides patients through these complexities, ensuring they receive their therapy on time and with the support they deserve. Your work directly impacts health outcomes, patient satisfaction, and the overall efficiency of the pharmacy network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, empathetic telephone support to patients receiving specialty medication therapy, addressing inquiries, concerns, and medication‑related questions.
  • Coordinate and process new patient medication orders and refill requests, including verification of insurance benefits and eligibility.
  • Enter prescription information accurately into the pharmacy information system, ensuring all required data fields are completed.
  • Collect and confirm copay amounts, communicate financial responsibilities to patients, and assist with payment arrangements when needed.
  • Obtain prior authorizations, work closely with insurance carriers, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve clinical or financial barriers.
  • Identify, screen, and resolve accounts receivable or clinical issues that could delay order fulfillment, escalating complex cases to senior specialists as appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all patient interactions, order statuses, and resolution steps within the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including pharmacy technicians, clinical pharmacists, and billing specialists—to ensure seamless order processing.
  • Stay current on evolving specialty drug formularies, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements to provide accurate guidance.
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality‑assurance programs, and performance‑improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a high‑volume customer service role, preferably handling complex inquiries over the phone.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, and email platforms.
  • Demonstrated computer keyboarding skills with a typing speed of at least 45 wpm and high accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional certifications or coursework in health‑care administration is a plus.
  • Residency in Michigan and ability to work from a home office within a 75‑mile radius of 1307 Allen Dr, Suite H, Troy, MI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a health‑care setting, especially within pharmacy, benefits coordination, or medical‑insurance environments.
  • Familiarity with prescription terminology, insurance benefit structures, and common medical abbreviations.
  • Experience using pharmacy management or customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex insurance authorization processes and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Strong problem‑solving aptitude and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.

  • Attention to Detail: Accurate data entry and meticulous verification of prescription and insurance information.
  • Organizational Ability: Ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously while meeting strict turnaround times.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfort with digital tools, electronic health records (EHR), and remote‑work technology.
  • Empathy & Patient‑Centric Mindset: Genuine desire to help patients navigate challenging health‑care journeys.
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to partner with internal stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
