[Remote] Manager, Business Analysis - Strategic Business Solutions PMO

Thermo Fisher Scientific is a global leader in serving science, and they are seeking a Manager, Business Analysis to drive strategic business solutions. The role involves detailed analysis of strategic opportunities, process improvement initiatives, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Establishes relationships with business users, understand their business processes and problem areas
- Develops visual representations of As-Is and To-Be scenarios to aid communication with both the business and senior management, with the view to optimize processes and automate where possible
- Be able to quantify the work involved, identify the key stakeholders, and calculate the potential benefits for senior management consideration
- Captures accurate, detailed, and comprehensive requirements from a wide range of business users
- Documents and categorizes requirements in a manner that is understandable to the business, developers, and testing teams
- Contributes to requirements planning and assessing level of effort
- May assist with technical feasibility discussions, prototype development, and the design of efficient, adaptable and scalable solutions
- Identifies specific proof of concepts that can be engineered to assist with the understanding of effort required for a full implementation
- Assists in the evaluation of vendor/IT proposals and the identification of gaps to facilitate good decision making within the business
- Assists PMO and business leadership in understanding complex initiatives and solutions
- Works with the wider PMO team to identify improvements to practices for potential adoption by the group
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 7+ years)
- 3+ years of senior business analysis role
- Proven business analysis skills
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Skilled in process improvement and strategic development, especially as it applies to clinical trials, clinical development and project management
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Technical and systems competency, such as computer skills, to include effective use of systems and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams; requirements management systems a plus (JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Proven flexibility and ability to effectively prioritize workload with the support of leadership
- Good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills with ability to apply critical and analytical strategic thinking skills to assess complex/ambiguous situations
- Proactive, solutions oriented and experienced at risk identification
- Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry experience is highly preferred
