Position Overview – Remote Member Services Representative

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused Remote Member Services Representative to join the Payments and Digital Strategy team within the arenaflex Credit Union. This role is pivotal in handling daily processing activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and delivering exceptional service to our members. Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Processing & Reconciliation: Perform daily data entry, balancing, and reconciliation of member transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, and check deposits.
  • Inter‑Institution Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with external partners, such as correspondent banks, the Federal Reserve, and clearinghouses, to resolve transaction discrepancies.
  • Fraud Resolution Support: Assist internal teams in investigating fraud alerts, responding to member inquiries, and maintaining accurate audit trails.
  • Compliance Adherence: Follow NACHA rules, Federal banking regulations, and internal policies to ensure all processing activities meet strict compliance standards.
  • Document Review & Approval: Review and approve Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), mobile deposits, ATM images, and other image‑enabled products for accuracy and compliance.
  • General Ledger (GL) Maintenance: Log, analyze, and post GL entries, account adjustments, and returns, ensuring financial integrity.
  • Stop Pay & Check Batching: Process stop‑pay requests, batch checks, and manage related documentation.
  • End‑of‑Day & Month‑End Closing: Complete daily balancing, departmental closing procedures, and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Member Case Management: Work assigned member cases, providing timely resolutions and maintaining high satisfaction scores.
  • Data Verification & Research: Verify inbound and outbound transfer data, confirm source documentation, and research transaction anomalies.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Ensure all activities comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other relevant statutes, completing required compliance examinations.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; additional education or certifications in finance or accounting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel and Word—demonstrated through work experience or formal training.
  • Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in a customer service, member service, or banking environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with members, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding member information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a credit union or banking operations setting.
  • Familiarity with core banking platforms such as Episys or Symitar.
  • Experience processing ACH, wire transfers, and other electronic payment methods.
  • Knowledge of NACHA rules, Federal Reserve regulations, and BSA compliance requirements.
  • Customer service certifications (e.g., Certified Customer Service Professional) or related training.
