Analyst/Senior Analyst - Enhanced Analytics - Chicago
Fitch Ratings is a leading provider of credit ratings and research, committed to delivering insights that influence decision-making in the financial market. The Analyst/Senior Analyst in Enhanced Analytics will support the Global Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance group by developing data-driven research and maintaining Excel applications for the rating and research process.
Responsibilities
- Develop, support and maintain Excel applications used in the rating and research process
- Integrate and mine large data sets, connecting data from disparate sources (primarily Oracle, Mongo databases) to identify critical insights and pragmatic data solutions
- Collaborate with functional experts and organizational leaders in the implementation of new products and process improvements
- Produce data-driven reports and presentations for internal and external use
Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical/quantitative field
- Previous experience as a data engineer or data analyst
- Python, VBA and SQL programming knowledge required
- Experience and expertise working with relational/non-relational databases and understanding of storage technologies (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
- Business Intelligence experience required, including hands-on development and analysis in Qlik Cloud
- Experience with Agile development concepts and related tools a plus
- Have a keen interest in finance and business. Knowledge/experience in finance/accounting, economics or capital markets a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication
