Role Overview – Why This Position Matters

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate individuals who reside in Florida (within a 75‑mile radius of our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy hub at 9310 Southpark Center Loop, Orlando, FL 32819) to join our remote team as Customer Service Representatives. In this role, you will be the trusted voice for patients receiving life‑sustaining specialty drug therapy, guiding them through the complex journey of medication ordering, benefits verification, and financial coordination.

Working flexible shifts (11:30 am – 8:00 pm EST or 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm EST), you will help ensure that every prescription reaches the patient safely, on time, and with a clear understanding of any associated costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, empathetic telephone support to patients initiating or renewing specialty medication orders.
  • Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and insurance coverage; resolve any gaps or denials before order fulfillment.
  • Enter new prescriptions and refill requests accurately into the pharmacy information system, adhering to all regulatory and privacy standards.
  • Collect and process copay amounts, coordinating with patients to arrange payment plans when necessary.
  • Obtain prior authorizations, working closely with insurance carriers, health‑care providers, and internal clinical teams.
  • Identify, screen, and troubleshoot clinical or financial issues that could delay order processing, escalating complex cases to senior specialists as needed.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all interactions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including pharmacy technicians, clinical pharmacists, and billing teams—to streamline workflow and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on evolving specialty drug therapies, insurance formularies, and industry best practices to provide accurate information to patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in a high‑volume customer service role, handling complex inquiries over the phone.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email platforms.
  • Demonstrated computer keyboarding skills with a typing speed of at least 40 wpm and high accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for translating technical or medical information into clear, compassionate language.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
  • Residency in Florida and ability to work from a home office within a 75‑mile radius of the Orlando specialty pharmacy location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a health‑care setting, particularly within pharmacy, benefits administration, or medical billing.
  • Familiarity with health‑insurance terminology, prescription benefits, and medical jargon.
