[Remote] Payroll Specialist (East Coast)

They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support global payroll operations, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while collaborating with HR and Finance teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review payroll-related journal entries across multiple countries
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure proper accounting treatment of payroll transactions
- Support internal controls and compliance with company accounting policies
- Partner with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and audit readiness
- Process and support end-to-end global payroll operations using ADP Streamline / ADP Celergo
- Ensure accurate salary calculations, variable compensation payments, and employee deductions
- Partner with ADP and HR to ensure compliance with country-specific tax regulations, social contributions, benefits, and statutory requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with global payroll vendors and stay current on local regulatory updates
- Review and ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual filings, statutory payments, and required government submissions
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing timely and professional support
- Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Review and validate integrations between HRIS and payroll systems to ensure data integrity
- Identify and resolve system discrepancies in partnership with internal teams and vendors
- Participate in automation initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts
- Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, controls, and overall payroll operations
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, and global business stakeholders
- Communicate proactively with leadership regarding risks, compliance matters, or process gaps
- Maintain a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset when working across regions and time zones
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 0–2 years of accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, global environment
- Experience with global payroll environments preferred
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus
