Data Analyst - Claims

Co-operators is a leading Canadian financial services co-operative committed to sustainability and resilience. As a Data Analyst in the Claims department, you will analyze data to solve business problems and provide insights, contributing to the team's objectives through effective communication and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomously perform descriptive and diagnostic analysis using recommended methods (ex: regression, cohort analysis, cluster analysis, A/B testing, factor analysis)
  • Design and develop metrics to enable descriptive analysis and diagnostic analysis
  • Autonomously design proof of concept and deliver with guidance a prototype analytical solution to enable effective storytelling and descriptive/diagnostic analysis
  • Work on Data querying (T-SQL, SQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Extract, clean, reconcile and prepare the data required for the analysis
  • Autonomously communicate findings to colleagues and your manager in an effective manner

Skills

  • 1- 3 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence or other relevant domain
  • University Degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent technical experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of data analysis, programming, modeling techniques, data warehouse and data management, research, architecture and design
  • Experience with data querying (T-SQL, SQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience solving standard problems by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedent & challenging status quo
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey messages
  • Effective team player who shares knowledge to support peers
  • ACAS or FCAS designations are considered an asset
