Product Designer
About The Role We're looking for a Product Designer to take ownership of product design at BarnTools. You'll work directly with our Head of Design, collaborating closely on the craft while building toward leading your own projects soon after onboarding. This is a high-ownership role with a fast ramp. You'll be responsible for all aspects of product design across BarnTalk and Barn360: discovery, UX flows, visual design, prototyping, and partnering with product and engineering through shipping.
What You'll Do
Own product design end-to-end: research, flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and developer handoff Lead design projects independently within your first few months, from problem framing through shipped solution Design clear, useful data experiences: dashboards, alerts, and visualizations that help users make decisions at a glance Grow your scope quickly through tight feedback loops with the Head of Design, taking on larger and more ambiguous problems over time Collaborate closely with engineering and product to scope work, iterate in production, and maintain high quality user experiences Help maintain and evolve our Harvest design system to keep the product consistent and the team fast What We're Looking For 3–5 years of professional experience designing shipped digital products A portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking and visual craft. Please illustrate your process, not just final screens. Readiness to lead: you've owned features or projects before (or are clearly ready to) and can drive work forward without waiting for direction Expert-level Figma skills, including working within shared component libraries Strong communication and the self-direction required for remote teamwork Experience collaborating directly with product managers and engineers Strong Candidates Will Have One or More Of Experience designing data-heavy products: dashboards, analytics, monitoring tools, or data visualization Experience owning a consumer-facing cross-platform mobile or tablet app Comfort making complex or technical information feel simple and scannable
Nice to Have
Experience at an early-stage or fast-moving company Basic user research skills (interviews, usability testing) Familiarity with agriculture, IoT, or hardware-connected software Familiarity with HTML/CSS or motion design How We Work Fully remote; generally Central US business hours As a small, close-knit team where you'll have direct access to decision-makers and real influence on the product Using tools like Figma, Jira, and Asana Occasional travel for team events and customer research
