About arenaflex – Pioneering Pharmacy Benefits and Data‑Driven Health Solutions

arenaflex is a leading force in the United States retail pharmacy and health‑care landscape, operating thousands of community locations across the nation and serving millions of customers each day. With a heritage of more than a century in delivering accessible, high‑quality health services, arenaflex combines the power of physical storefronts with cutting‑edge digital platforms to create a seamless omnichannel experience. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to improve lives by making health care more affordable, convenient, and personalized. As part of our growing analytics and underwriting team, you will help shape the pricing strategies that keep our pharmacy benefit programs competitive, compliant, and customer‑centric.

Why This Role Is a Great Fit for You

If you are a detail‑oriented professional who loves turning raw data into actionable insights, this remote position offers a unique blend of analytical rigor, cross‑functional collaboration, and real‑world impact. You will work from the comfort of your home while partnering with finance, operations, sales, and product teams to develop pricing models that drive multimillion‑dollar decisions. Whether you are a recent graduate eager to launch a career in health‑care finance or an experienced analyst looking for a flexible, remote opportunity, arenaflex provides the tools, mentorship, and growth pathways you need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Every Day

  • Collect, cleanse, and analyze large data sets from pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), health plans, and third‑party vendors to support underwriting and pricing recommendations.
  • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated financial forecasting and underwriting models using advanced Microsoft Excel techniques such as pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, INDEX + MATCH, SUMIFS, and formula auditing.
  • Leverage intermediate‑level Microsoft Access, SAS, and SQL skills to query complex data warehouses, create parameterized queries, join tables, and automate repetitive tasks with macros.
  • Track, report, and automate process‑improvement initiatives that enhance pricing accuracy, reduce cycle time, and increase transparency for internal stakeholders.
  • Identify pricing anomalies, investigate root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions that align with arenaflex’s strategic objectives across retail, specialty, immunizations, and clinic services.
  • Prepare senior‑level executive documentation—including pricing recommendation memos, financial impact analyses, and presentation decks—for leadership review and decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners in finance, reporting, operations, business development, and sales to ensure pricing models reflect real‑world market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate findings clearly and persuasively, both in written reports and oral presentations, to diverse audiences ranging from technical analysts to senior executives.
  • Support ad‑hoc projects, such as competitive benchmarking, scenario analysis, and profitability assessments, as business needs evolve.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, Actuarial Science, Pharmacoeconomics, or a related field. Equivalent experience (e.g., high school diploma/GED plus three years in PBM, contracting, finance, or pricing) will also be considered.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas), intermediate Access, SAS, and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Analytical Acumen: Demonstrated ability to interrogate large data sets, uncover trends, and translate findings into actionable pricing strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience preparing executive‑level presentations and reports.
  • Organizational Ability: Strong multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Experience delivering high‑quality support to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Software Literacy: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word for creating polished deliverables.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 10 % of the time for business purposes, both domestic and occasional international trips.

Preferred Qualifications – Nice‑to‑Have Extras

  • Prior experience in pharmacy benefit management, health‑care contracting, or related financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with health‑care regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines).
  • Exposure to data‑visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Certification in actuarial science or financial modeling (e.g., CFA, ASA).
  • Demonstrated project‑leadership experience on cross‑functional initiatives.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to challenge assumptions, address ambiguity, and develop logical solutions.
  • Detail Orientation: Precision in data handling, model building, and documentation.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working with diverse teams, building consensus, and influencing decisions.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new tools and processes.
  • Ethical Judgment: Commitment to data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Structured mentorship programs pairing you with senior finance and analytics leaders.
  • Online learning platforms offering courses in advanced analytics, SQL, SAS, and health‑care economics.

  • Regular exposure to senior leadership through presentations and strategic project briefings.
