Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to lead our scientific transformation initiatives within the Talent Acquisition (TA) space. This is a remarkable opportunity to participate in a ground-up reconstruction of our analytical capabilities, ranging from data ingestion and processing to complex business transformations and end-user reporting. As part of our team, you will conceptualize and implement cutting-edge solutions, experiment with innovative ideas, evangelize successes, and establish consistency across our data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is an autonomous Data Scientist who can source data, clean, analyze, refine, transform, model, present, automate, and document our business data pipelines. You will continuously explore ways to improve data stream processes, stay current with emerging trends in data warehousing, and demonstrate exceptional ability to coordinate and manage multiple interrelated projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Domain Experts: Partner with specialists, software developers, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support for strategic initiatives.
  • Data Analysis and Transformation: Write code to analyze complex datasets and design, develop, and evaluate data transformations to address specific business challenges and operational requirements.
  • Automated Data Pipeline Development: Build scalable, efficient, and automated data cycles to facilitate client-facing reporting and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Process Automation: Automate Talent Acquisition cycles to streamline business operations and improve efficiency across the organization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate verbally and in writing with business clients and leadership to share insights, recommendations, and strategic findings.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with product teams, engineering groups, and executive stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with business objectives.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to the overall growth of the data science community.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
  • Programming Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience with data querying languages (such as SQL), programming languages (such as Python), or statistical/mathematical programming tools (such as R, SAS, MATLAB, or similar platforms).
  • Machine Learning Expertise: Minimum 3 years of experience with machine learning and statistical modeling, including hands-on experience with various ML tools, techniques, and frameworks that influence model performance and scalability.
  • Applied Modeling Skills: Practical experience applying theoretical models in real-world applied environments, demonstrating the ability to translate academic knowledge into business value.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
  • Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Enterprise Experience: Previous experience in a Machine Learning or Data Scientist role with a major technology company or innovative organization.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data science platforms and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks.
  • Domain Expertise: Knowledge of Talent Acquisition processes, HR analytics, or related human resources technologies.
  • Publication or Research: Published research or contributions to open-source data science projects.

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages; experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Data Visualization: Strong skills in data visualization tools and techniques to communicate findings effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $45 per hour (equivalent to approximately $93,600 annually based on standard full-time hours), reflecting our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.
