Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, self‑motivated engineer with a strong background in software development, data engineering, and analytics. In this role you will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders—including vehicle engineers, firmware developers, and mechanical designers—to create robust, scalable data pipelines and analytical tools. You will champion best practices, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the strategic direction of arenaflex’s data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Design, implement, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines on a modern AWS‑based stack (S3, EMR, Glue, Athena/Trino) that ingest, transform, and store telemetry at petabyte scale.
• Full‑Stack Application Engineering: Build reusable, production‑grade web applications and services using Python, Flask/FastAPI, and modern front‑end frameworks to enable self‑serve analytics for engineers.
• Data Processing & Analytics: Write performant Spark jobs and SQL queries to clean, aggregate, and enrich data, supporting downstream machine‑learning and statistical modeling.
• Tooling & Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Docker, Kubernetes, and Airflow to ensure reliable, repeatable deployments across environments.
• Collaboration & Guidance: Partner with domain experts to translate business requirements into technical specifications, providing mentorship on data‑engineering best practices.
• Visualization & Reporting: Create interactive dashboards using Superset, Bokeh, or Plotly that surface key performance indicators, anomaly detection, and trend analysis to stakeholders.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and tune data pipelines for latency, throughput, and cost efficiency, leveraging cloud native tools and cost‑management strategies.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear, concise documentation, Jupyter notebooks, and code comments to foster a culture of reproducibility and knowledge transfer.

Essential Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in data‑intensive environments.
• Expertise in Python and SQL; demonstrated ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark (PySpark) and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Proficiency with data‑science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and statistical analysis tools (R, MATLAB, or Octave).
