Position Overview

The Remote Pharmacist – Centralized Services & Data Operations Specialist is responsible for the execution of clinical pharmacy services, accurate prescription processing, and the implementation of patient intervention programs that improve health outcomes across diverse populations. This role is pivotal in driving pharmacy financial performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and serving as a subject matter expert for pharmacists and field leaders throughout the organization.

Working from a remote setting, you will process prescriptions with precision, monitor drug utilization, conduct clinical reviews, and foster strong relationships with clinical networks in your assigned region. You will act as a representative and key contact of arenaflex while maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Patient Care and Program Execution

  • Execute direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer/Pharma Adherence and Clinical Programs.
  • Drive the implementation of various strategies and operations to ensure business objectives are consistently met.
  • Lead compliance and continuous quality improvement initiatives in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care services by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing outcomes; and implementing corrective changes.
  • Ensure that regional pharmacies comply with all regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and FDA regulations.

Financial Performance and Reimbursement Optimization

  • Drive regional pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with organizational financial goals.
  • Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs designed to maximize reimbursement opportunities and revenue performance.
  • Support efforts to enhance the overall patient experience by elevating the focus on healthcare services such as patient consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and specialty clinical programs.

Leadership, Mentorship, and Collaboration

  • Provide expertise, educational resources, and support to pharmacists and field leadership across the organization.
  • Promote staff training experiences and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by encouraging a shared vision and reinforcing company policies, mission, values, and ethical standards.

Data Review, Clinical Audits, and Patient Consultation

  • Conduct data and clinical audits, taking necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all medications dispensed.
  • Review medication histories and patient profiles to guarantee safe and effective drug therapy.
  • Provide individualized patient and provider consultations to address therapeutic concerns and optimize outcomes.
  • Build trust with patients through active listening, offering a supportive sounding board for pharmacy-related concerns.
  • Offer feedback on the effectiveness of the Customer Retention Program, including patient commentary on the value of individual consultations.
  • Address all inquiries, discussions, and concerns directly related to patient treatment.

Advisory and Compliance Functions

  • Provide clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
  • Perform additional duties consistent with the responsibilities of this position as assigned by leadership.
  • Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacist license issued by the appropriate state licensing authority.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a related field.
  • Experience inspiring team members to investigate and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, including prioritizing, organizing, and meeting deadlines for multiple tasks with varying completion dates.
  • Experience developing independent approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, including knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, meeting quality standards, and evaluating client satisfaction.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, within and outside the assigned state.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to obtain additional state pharmacy licenses as required.
  • Working knowledge of insurance plans and payer systems.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems, including RADAR, Commitment, and Plus.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel proficiency (opening workbooks, inserting rows, formatting cells as currency, copy/paste functions, renaming worksheets, inserting charts, setting margins, and printing worksheets).
  • Basic Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency (inserting/modifying slides, navigating between slides, formatting text, inserting tables/notes, and running slide shows).
  • Basic Microsoft Word proficiency (opening documents, cutting/pasting text, formatting text and paragraphs, inserting bullets/images/dates, using find and replace, spell check, track changes, and printing).
