The Lease Accounting Team sits at the intersection of corporate real‑estate strategy and financial reporting. You will lead a group of talented accountants, ensuring compliance with ASC 842, IFRS 16, and other lease‑accounting standards while delivering accurate quarterly and annual financial statements. Your work directly influences how arenaflex allocates capital, manages risk, and tells its financial story to investors, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop a team of five accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all lease‑related accounting adheres to ASC 842, IFRS 16, and other relevant standards, conducting regular reviews and updates to internal policies.
  • Loan Book Oversight: Oversee the preparation and review of global loan‑book entries, including collections, adjustments, and reconciliation of loan balances.
  • Quarterly & Annual Reporting: Prepare account balances, variance explanations, and supporting schedules for lease accounts, 10‑Q/K filings, and ASC 842 disclosures.
  • SOX Audit Coordination: Lead the quarterly SOX audit team, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all real‑estate, asset, and loan transactions.
  • Expense Management: Direct a three‑person team responsible for timely payment of all real‑estate operating expenses (REO).
  • Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Manage quarterly CRE coverage, analyzing totals, margins, exposure, and volatility to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve existing accounting processes, staying current on changes to loan‑accounting standards.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to cross‑functional initiatives such as Tririga lease‑management system enhancements, SAP S/4HANA implementation, and other corporate finance projects.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Real Estate, Lease Administration, and Legal teams to interpret accounting records, resolve discrepancies, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Special Support Services: Act as the primary liaison for special support and services requests, ensuring rapid response and resolution.

Essential Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in core accounting functions and 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lease accounting standards (ASC 842, IFRS 16) and a solid understanding of internal controls and control environments.
  • Proficiency with major ERP systems—SAP experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical abilities paired with robust business and financial acumen.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to meet research objectives and deliver high‑quality project outcomes.
  • Exceptional relationship‑building skills and a customer‑service mindset.
  • Ability to influence and interact effectively with senior management across multiple functions.

  • Experience with lease‑management software such as Tririga or similar platforms.

  • Background in corporate real‑estate investments or CRE portfolio management.
  • Project‑management experience, especially in large‑scale system implementations.
  • Advanced Excel/Power Query skills for data analysis and reporting automation.
