Why This Role Matters

In today’s data‑driven world, the ability to ingest, process, and analyze massive volumes of information in real time is a competitive advantage. Your work will directly influence the reliability, scalability, and performance of arenaflex’s core platforms, ensuring that our customers enjoy fast, secure, and innovative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and optimize end‑to‑end big‑data pipelines using Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and PySpark to support high‑throughput data ingestion and processing.
  • Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and senior architects to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers on clean coding, test‑driven development, and continuous integration.
  • Implement automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and monitoring tools to ensure production‑grade reliability.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, identify data quality issues, and proactively propose remediation strategies.
  • Design and maintain data‑warehouse schemas, data‑lake structures, and real‑time streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis) to support analytics and machine‑learning workloads.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and micro‑service architectures, ensuring seamless integration with existing on‑premise systems.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming to keep projects on track and aligned with business priorities.
  • Document technical designs, data flow diagrams, and operational runbooks to facilitate knowledge sharing across distributed teams.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and open‑source contributions, championing innovative solutions within arenaflex.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in big‑data development, including design and implementation of data pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Hadoop ecosystem tools (Hive, HBase, Spark, PySpark) and strong SQL skills for complex query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of data‑warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL best practices.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium‑sized engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with a track record of diagnosing and fixing production issues quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with micro‑service design patterns, Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Experience building real‑time streaming solutions using Kafka, Kinesis, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Couchbase, or HBase.
  • Exposure to machine‑learning pipelines and data‑science workflows (e.g., MLflow, TensorFlow Extended).
  • Contributions to open‑source projects or active participation in technical communities.
  • Professional certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Cloudera Certified Professional).
