Transportation Engineer 9-12 (Assistant Construction Engineer) - Marshall TSC

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join their team at the Marshall Transportation Service Center. This role involves assisting the Construction Engineer in managing construction projects and various TSC activities, including utilities and contract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Engineer and unit in the management of construction projects
  • Assist with various TSC activities such as utilities, pavement warranties, Work Zone Safety and contract administration

Skills

  • Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Transportation Engineer 9: No specific type or amount is required
  • Transportation Engineer 10: One year of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 9
  • Transportation Engineer P11: Two years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 10
  • Transportation Engineer 12: Three years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11
  • Possession of a registered professional engineer license as required by the State of Michigan may be substituted for 6 months of experience at the Transportation Engineer 9-12 levels
  • Although not required, do you possess a bachelor of science or higher degree in Civil Engineering?
  • Although not required, do you possess any of the following certifications: Certified Stormwater Operator (CSWO), Comprehensive Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC)?
