Tax Associate (Atlanta, GA)
Mercer Advisors is a leading firm in the financial industry, dedicated to helping families with comprehensive financial services. The Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing income tax returns and providing tax compliance services to high-net-worth clients, while collaborating with the wealth management teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts and businesses
- Create quarterly estimates and projections
- Responsible for timely and accurate response to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis with both tax and wealth management clients
- Coordinate with tax support staff to ensure timely workflow practices and data integrity
- Work with tax staff to respond to tax notices and initial preparation of correspondence
- Stays up to date on tax law and any changes
- All other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Working knowledge of tax preparation, preferably 1-3+ years of experience working in public accounting
- Obtained or plan to obtain CPA or EA, a plus
- Experience with CCH, including Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend, a plus
- Highly organized and tax-oriented
- Ability to handle a large volume of activities at one time
- Ability to communicate concepts to clients and advisors in concise and understandable fashion
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent time-management skills
