Associate - GIP Credit, Investment Professional
BlackRock is a global leader in investment management, risk management and advisory services for institutional and retail clients. The GIP Credit Team is seeking a qualified candidate to join their investment team in New York, responsible for project and financial modeling, deal assessment and execution, and portfolio monitoring for various transactions.
Responsibilities
- Financial modelling: running and developing bespoke financial models in order to analyze investment opportunities
- Deal assessment and execution: working with the team to assess and execute project investments. This will include conducting due diligence, financial review, and preparation of investment committee materials
- Market research: including research on potential investments, policy, competitors, technology etc
- Portfolio monitoring: assist in the monitoring of investments in the portfolio
Skills
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience (e.g. Project Finance, Leverage Finance, M&A, or Restructuring)
- Bachelor's degree required with a strong academic record – Major in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or engineering a plus
- Strong financial modelling skills, particularly focused on cash flow and capital structure analysis
- Experience of undertaking infrastructure due diligence processes and reviewing finance and/or project legal documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Quick learner who is highly organized, has exceptional project management skills and is able to manage multiple workstreams effectively and deliver quality work on schedule
- Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a friendly, entrepreneurial, team environment
- A keen interest in the infrastructure and debt markets
- Fluency in English - Spanish proficiency a plus
