Associate Engineer, Business Analytics Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Apply industrial engineering and analytical methods such as forecasting, process analysis, capacity analysis, and optimization techniques to support operational improvement initiatives
  • Assist in developing and maintaining analytical models that support labor planning, staffing optimization, forecasting, and operational decision-making
  • Analyze operational performance data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Conduct on-site observational studies to evaluate operational processes, guest flow, and workforce performance
  • Collect, validate, and analyze time studies, throughput data, and other operational metrics
  • Combine field observations with data analysis to develop practical and implementable operational improvements
  • Contribute to Workforce Management initiatives through labor planning analysis, staffing optimization, scheduling analytics, and demand forecasting
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve labor utilization and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to workforce management tools, reporting, and planning processes
  • Extract, analyze, and validate data using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Python, Excel, and other cloud-based platforms
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools in Power BI and Excel to track KPIs and operational performance trends
  • Participate in automation and workflow improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and data accuracy
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and operational leaders to implement process improvements
  • Communicate insights and recommendations through presentations, reporting, and data visualization
  • Assist in developing business cases and operational analyses for leadership review

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
  • 1+ years of relevant analytical or operational experience, including internships and co-op experience
  • Experience conducting analytical or operational studies using business data and translating findings into actionable recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with datasets
  • Experience with data querying or programming tools such as SQL or Python
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Internship or project experience in industrial engineering, operations analysis, workforce management, or process improvement
  • Familiarity with workforce management, labor planning, staffing optimization, or forecasting concepts
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, or Microsoft Azure
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in theme parks, hospitality, entertainment, retail, or other high-volume operational environments
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new analytical tools, systems, and operational processes
