Job Summary Location: This position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii. The Data Analyst Business Transformation is responsible for sourcing, transforming, validating, and analyzing data to support performance reporting, operational analytics, and regulatory needs. This role focuses on data extraction, transformation, modeling, and exploratory analysis to ensure accurate, reliable, and well-structured datasets for downstream reporting and performance management. The Data Analyst partners closely with Senior Performance Reporting Analysts, operations, and IT teams to ensure that performance reporting is built on high-quality, trusted data.
Job Description
Extract data from core systems, including claims, enrollment, provider, utilization management, call center, and financial systems. Develop and maintain SQL queries, views, and data models to support reporting and analytics needs. Perform data transformations, joins, and aggregations to create analysis-ready datasets. Support data ingestion and integration across multiple source systems. Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Investigate and resolve data anomalies in collaboration with IT, vendors, and business stakeholders. Document data sources, logic, and transformation rules. Conduct exploratory and ad-hoc analysis to answer operational and business questions. Support root cause analysis and investigative work requested by performance and operations teams. Identify data trends, anomalies, and patterns that may impact operational performance. Deliver validated datasets and analytical outputs to Senior Performance Reporting Analysts and reporting teams. Support the development of dashboards and reports by ensuring that underlying data is accurate and performant. Assist with performance metric calculations as defined by reporting governance. Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams on data warehouse, data mart, and reporting layer enhancements. Support automation of data pipelines and recurring analytical processes. Participate in data governance, metadata management, and documentation initiatives. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. 2–5+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics role, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or a TPA environment. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and large datasets. Experience supporting BI and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills. Preferred Requirements: Experience with healthcare claims, enrollment, or provider data. Familiarity with AS400 systems and healthcare data warehouses. Experience with scripting or analytical tools (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.
