CELIAC DISEASE FOUNDATION DEVELOPMENT COMMITEE MEMBER - REMOTE The role of the Development Committee is to oversee the Celiac Disease Foundation’s overall development plan and fundraising to include organizing, monitoring, and evaluating efforts by the Board to develop philanthropic revenue that ensures the Foundation’s financial ability to carry out its mission. The Celiac Disease Foundation seeks passionate and dynamic individuals to participate as committee members to drive the Foundation's mission of improving the lives of individuals affected by celiac disease. The Celiac Disease Foundation is a leading global patient advocacy organization committed to accelerating diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease. Established in 1990, the Foundation's mission is to improve the health and well-being of the millions of individuals around the world affected by this genetic autoimmune disease. The Foundation achieves its mission through strategic investments in research, advocacy, and education. GENERAL CONDUCT · To act according to the highest legal and ethical standards of conduct and maintain the confidentiality of the Foundation’s private affairs. · To review the bylaws and operating principles of the Foundation and conduct myself in accordance with them. · To promote the Foundation in the community through advocacy and communication outreach efforts as directed and encouraged by the Foundation’s staff. COMMITTEE MEETINGS · To attend and actively participate in all committee meetings (meetings via email, web, or telephone are acceptable). · To prepare for all meetings by reviewing the materials and reading them prior to each meeting. · To be fiscally responsible, and, along with other committee members, ensure adequate resources for achieving the Foundation’s mission. FUNDRAISING · Make the Foundation a personal charitable priority. · Support the fundraising and development efforts in the ways best suited to my abilities, which may include: calling large donors; making individual solicitations; making introductions to corporate or foundation prospects; undertaking special events; or providing guidance as asked. OTHER · To be available for phone or online consultation. · To respond to emails or calls from fellow committee members or staff in a timely manner (24 hrs). · To participate and play an active role in Foundation events.
