Job Description

The Field Engineering team plays a crucial role in enhancing public safety by deploying Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Mobile Applications, and Records Management Systems (RMS). They handle all on-premise hardware and equipment installations for government and municipal projects, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and promote efficient standardization and reuse.

Responsibilities

Managing and executing customer installation activities within agreed upon project timeframes. Verifying the complete functionality and readiness of systems for software deployment. Conducting routine system tasks like software updates, system upgrades, data backup/restoration, and troubleshooting. Gaining a deep understanding of public safety customer environments to ensure optimal product security and reliability. Demonstrating proficient software and IP networking skills, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities. Deliver solutions that align with existing products, standard interfaces, and pre-defined procedures. Adhering to all corporate guidelines and completing required training, including CJIS compliance. Accurately logging billable hours for project work. Travel (50%-75%) will be required, depending on project and business needs.

Qualifications

Proven experience installing, administering, and troubleshooting the following: Server Virtualization/Containerization: Specifically VMware ESXi v.7+ and/or Red Hat OpenShift. Database Servers: Particularly Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and later Server Operating Systems: Including Windows Server 2019 and later Workstation Operating Systems: Such as Windows 10 & 11, and Linux Network LAN Switches: Experience with HP Arista is a plus Storage Area Network (SAN): Experience with HPE Alletra and Nimble is a plus Basic Firewall and Router knowledge: Fortinet Fortigate experience is a plus Server and Workstation hardware: Experience with HPE compute hardware is a plus Window Active Directory (AD) administration including Group Policy Object (GPO) and Domain Name System (DNS) Experience using TeamCity is a plus Prior experience with the deployment, integration, operations, or administration of Public Safety Applications. Preferred candidates will reside in the Central time zone or Mountain time zone. Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers. ​ #LI-LD Basic Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or Technology or 5+ years of experience deploying and integrating complex IP products and systems.
