Business Intelligence Tester
Must-Have Skills 1. SQL & Data Validation
- Strong SQL querying (joins, aggregations, complex queries)
- Ability to validate large datasets across source & target systems
2. ETL Testing
- Experience in testing ETL pipelines (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, etc.)
- Understanding of data flow, transformations, and mapping validation
3. Data Warehousing Concepts
- Knowledge of star/snowflake schemas, fact & dimension tables
- Understanding of OLAP systems and data models
4. BI/Reporting Testing
- Testing dashboards/reports in tools like Power BI, Tableau, Cognos
- Validating KPIs, drill-downs, filters, and visualisations
Nice-to-Have
Skills 1. Automation in Testing
- Experience with Selenium / API automation / scripting for data validation
2. Programming/Scripting
- Python / Shell scripting for data validation or automation
3. Cloud/Data Platforms
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks
4. Domain Knowledge
- BFSI or any relevant domain (especially useful for your current portfolio like Mastercard/Nedbank context)
