Role Overview – Lead Customer Success Manager (EMEA)

We are looking for a mission‑driven, senior‑level Customer Success leader to own and grow our enterprise book of business across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. This is a high‑visibility, individual‑contributor role that sits at the intersection of sales, product, and support. You will be the trusted advisor for our largest corporate customers, guiding them from onboarding through renewal, while championing adoption of arenaflex’s expanding portfolio of climate‑data products and services.

The role demands a blend of strategic relationship management, commercial acumen, and a deep passion for climate impact. You will work closely with the commercial team, product managers, data scientists, and senior leadership to ensure that every customer derives measurable value from our solutions and that arenaflex continues to grow its footprint in the carbon‑market ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Ownership: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned enterprise accounts, overseeing the full customer lifecycle—from initial onboarding and implementation to ongoing adoption, expansion, and renewal.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, product, data science, and marketing teams to craft tailored success plans that align with each customer’s climate‑investment objectives.
  • Product Advocacy & Adoption: Act as the internal champion for arenaflex’s suite of tools, driving deep product usage, facilitating training sessions, and gathering feedback to inform product roadmaps.
  • Value Realisation & Reporting: Work with customers to define key performance indicators (KPIs), track outcomes, and deliver regular business reviews that demonstrate ROI and environmental impact.
  • Revenue Growth & Expansion: Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities, introduce new modules or data services, and negotiate renewal terms that protect and grow recurring revenue.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with senior executives (Directors, VPs, C‑suite) and influence decision‑making at the strategic level.
  • Market Intelligence: Capture insights from the EMEA carbon‑market landscape, competitor activity, and emerging regulatory trends to keep arenaflex ahead of the curve.
  • Travel & On‑Site Engagement: Conduct periodic on‑site visits, workshops, and industry events across the EMEA region to deepen relationships and showcase arenaflex’s capabilities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing enterprise‑level customer relationships in the EMEA region, preferably within climate‑tech, sustainability, SaaS, or related high‑growth sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of expanding existing accounts and securing multi‑year renewals with enterprise‑scale customers.
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience in value‑based selling, contract negotiation, and revenue forecasting.
  • Fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal); additional European language proficiency is a distinct advantage.
  • Passion for climate action and a solid understanding of carbon markets, carbon credits, or CDR technologies.
  • Self‑starter attitude, comfortable thriving in a fast‑moving, early‑stage startup environment.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders (Director/VP level) and occasionally present to C‑suite executives.
  • Willingness to travel across the EMEA region on a regular basis (up to 20 % of the time).

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Background in consulting, advisory services, or account management within sustainability‑focused organisations.
  • Experience working with climate‑data platforms, carbon‑credit registries, or environmental‑impact reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, or voluntary carbon‑market standards.
  • Advanced degree in environmental science, business, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi‑stakeholder projects from inception to delivery.
