Role Overview – What You’ll Do

As a Sustainability Customer Success Manager at arenaflex, you will be the trusted post‑sales partner for our rapidly expanding portfolio of SME customers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that clients derive maximum value from our sustainability platform, while also feeding real‑world insights back into product development. This role sits at the intersection of technical sustainability expertise, customer relationship management, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end‑to‑end onboarding experience for new customers, guiding them through data migration, configuration, and initial training on the arenaflex platform.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for German‑speaking clients, providing timely, expert assistance on sustainability‑related queries, technical issues, and best‑practice guidance.
  • Interpret and translate sustainability KPIs (e.g., carbon footprints, ESG scores) generated by our software into clear, actionable recommendations that support clients’ strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless handover from pre‑sales to post‑sales, sharing insights on client expectations and potential upsell opportunities.
  • Partner with the product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback, prioritize feature requests, and participate in beta testing of new functionalities.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring tools that track customer usage patterns, adoption rates, and satisfaction metrics, proactively addressing churn risks.
  • Lead workshops, webinars, and training sessions (in German and English) to educate customers on emerging sustainability standards such as GRI, DNK, and Ecovadis.
  • Continuously deepen your technical sustainability knowledge, becoming an internal subject‑matter expert on protocols like the GHG Protocol and related reporting frameworks.
  • Document success stories, case studies, and best‑practice guides that showcase the tangible business benefits of using arenaflex.

Who You Are – Essential & Preferred Qualifications

Core Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer success, account management, or sustainability consulting role, preferably within a SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with at least one major sustainability framework (GHG Protocol, GRI, DNK, or Ecovadis).
  • Native‑level proficiency in German (both written and spoken) and strong business‑level English communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Structured, analytical, and solution‑oriented work style with a knack for turning complex data into clear narratives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building trust with senior stakeholders and articulating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Nice‑to‑Have Extras

  • Hands‑on experience with the GHG Protocol or carbon accounting tools.
  • Background in ESG reporting, sustainability consulting, or environmental science.
