Role Overview – Customer‑Facing Data Scientist

The Customer‑Facing Data Scientist role is a hybrid blend of technical expertise, strategic consulting, and client partnership. You will work directly with arenaflex’s enterprise customers, guiding them through the entire AI lifecycle—from problem definition and data preparation to model deployment, monitoring, and business value realization. This position sits at the intersection of data science, sales, and product development, making you a trusted advisor who helps clients unlock measurable outcomes using arenaflex’s AI platform.

Whether you are presenting to C‑suite executives, collaborating with data engineering teams, or shaping product roadmaps based on customer feedback, you will be instrumental in ensuring that arenaflex’s solutions deliver tangible, repeatable results for every organization you serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end Customer Engagement: Guide customers through the full AI journey, from pre‑sales discovery to post‑implementation support, ensuring a seamless experience across the arenaflex platform.
  • AI Advisory & Solution Design: Act as a trusted AI advisor, helping clients frame business problems, curate data, develop scripts, build and validate models, and operationalize AI solutions that align with strategic objectives.
  • Pre‑Sales Demonstrations & Proof‑of‑Value: Lead technical demos for senior executives, evaluate the feasibility of use cases, co‑create success criteria, and run Proof‑of‑Value (PoV) trials that quantify the ROI of AI‑first automation.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Account Management, and Field Engineering teams to align technical delivery with commercial goals and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Voice Advocacy: Represent the customer perspective internally, providing actionable insights to Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to shape future enhancements.
  • Thought Leadership & Community Building: Present at industry conferences, author whitepapers, and contribute to marketing content that showcases arenaflex’s AI capabilities.
  • Project Management: Own project timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans, ensuring that AI initiatives stay on schedule and within scope.
  • Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging AI techniques, platform updates, and industry trends to provide cutting‑edge recommendations to customers.

Essential Qualifications

  • 4–5+ years of hands‑on experience in a data science role, delivering business‑impacting machine‑learning solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field). An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record of building, training, and deploying production‑grade ML or AI models.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to translate technical outcomes into measurable business results.
  • Strong customer‑interaction experience, with a consultative mindset and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation tools (SQL, pandas, dplyr, etc.) and fluency in Python and/or R scripting (preferably both).

  • Experience with consultative sales processes in the analytics or AI marketplace, including opportunity qualification and solution selling.
  • Familiarity with data platform integrations (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery) and modern data engineering pipelines.
  • Background working within complex, matrixed customer organizations, navigating multiple stakeholder groups and decision‑making layers.
  • Public speaking experience at industry events, webinars, or internal knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • Knowledge of MLOps best practices, model governance, and AI ethics frameworks.
