Position Overview
This is an on‑site, non‑remote position based in Reston, VA. You will travel to multiple Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) within the arenaflex network, providing phlebotomy services on a rotating schedule while simultaneously handling high‑volume data entry and analysis tasks. Key Responsibilities
Phlebotomy Services
- Perform venous blood draws and other specimen collections in accordance with arenaflex’s standard operating procedures and industry best practices.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout the collection process, addressing any concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Accurately label, document, and prepare specimens for timely transport to designated laboratories, adhering to chain‑of‑custody protocols.
- Maintain strict compliance with all health, safety, and infection‑control regulations, including OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Travel between assigned IOP locations on a pre‑determined schedule, providing reliable phlebotomy coverage as needed.
- Keep the phlebotomy workspace clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies, ensuring readiness for each collection session.
Data Entry & Analysis
- Enter patient demographics, specimen details, and test orders into the laboratory information system (LIS) with a target accuracy rate of 99.9%.
- Review incoming data feeds, verify completeness, and resolve discrepancies before final submission.
- Compile, organize, and analyze data sets for internal reporting, quality‑control reviews, and regulatory submissions.
- Identify patterns or anomalies in data entry processes and recommend corrective actions or system enhancements.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR (where applicable), and arenaflex’s data‑privacy policies.
- Collaborate with clinical managers, IT teams, and quality‑assurance personnel to streamline workflows and improve data integrity.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field is preferred.
- Current certification in phlebotomy (state‑required where applicable).
- Minimum of 5 years of combined phlebotomy and data‑entry experience, preferably within a healthcare or laboratory setting.
- At least 2 years of experience working in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques and comfortable interacting with diverse patient populations, including pediatric, geriatric, and special‑needs groups.
- Exceptional typing speed (≥70 wpm) and data‑entry accuracy, with a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and laboratory information systems (LIS); experience with Google Workspace or similar collaboration tools is a plus.
