Key Responsibilities

Customer Interaction & Consultation

  • Proactively greet every customer entering the department, establishing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Qualify customer needs through thoughtful questioning, uncovering both immediate and long‑term project goals.
  • Leverage arenaflex’s product knowledge tools to recommend complete project solutions, including complementary items and services.
  • Demonstrate product features, benefits, and usage scenarios to help customers make informed decisions.
  • Close sales by confidently presenting pricing, financing options, and promotional offers.

Product Mastery & Continuous Learning

  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of product lines across multiple departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.
  • Utilize arenaflex’s internal training platforms and hands‑on workshops to deepen expertise.
  • Share insights and best practices with teammates to elevate overall department performance.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Ensure assigned aisles and display areas are fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Perform regular inventory checks, report discrepancies, and coordinate replenishment with the back‑room team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and shopper‑friendly environment by adhering to all safety policies and standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Complete required safety training modules and stay current on arenaflex’s safety protocols.
  • Identify and promptly correct hazards; report unsafe conditions to the Department Supervisor or Manager on Duty.
  • Model safe work practices to protect yourself, coworkers, vendors, and customers.

Collaboration & Cross‑Department Support

  • Work closely with Department Supervisors, fellow associates, and other store teams to deliver seamless service.
  • Assist in adjacent departments during peak periods, ensuring customers receive consistent support across the store.
  • Participate in team meetings, sales huddles, and training sessions to align on goals and initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Customer‑focused mindset: Demonstrated ability to listen actively, empathize, and respond to diverse customer needs.
  • Sales acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a retail or service environment.
