Position Overview – Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) role is the heartbeat of our store. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers, delivering friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service that reflects arenaflex’s commitment to excellence. This position blends cash handling, sales assistance, store upkeep, and occasional food‑service duties, ensuring that each customer leaves with a smile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Greet every guest with a warm welcome, answer questions, and provide product recommendations that match their needs.
  • Cash Register Operations: Accurately process sales transactions, handle cash, credit, and mobile payments, and maintain a balanced register at the end of each shift.
  • Merchandise Promotion: Identify opportunities to upsell and cross‑sell, suggest complementary items, and participate in in‑store promotions and seasonal campaigns.
  • Store Maintenance: Patrol the sales floor, restock shelves, keep aisles tidy, and assist with visual merchandising to uphold arenaflex’s high standards for appearance.
  • Food Program Support: When needed, assist with the preparation and service of ready‑to‑eat items, ensuring compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments, share information, and contribute to a positive, energetic team atmosphere.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Provide reliable, predictable onsite attendance, adhering to scheduled shifts and notifying management of any changes promptly.
  • Problem Solving: Address customer concerns swiftly, propose creative solutions, and escalate issues when necessary to maintain satisfaction.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training sessions, product knowledge updates, and safety briefings to stay current with arenaflex’s evolving offerings.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
  • Previous retail or customer‑service experience, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a cash register and handle monetary transactions accurately.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a sales associate, cashier, or in a similar front‑line role.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and basic inventory management.

  • Push or pull objects with a force of up to 20 lb using arms.
