Our mission is simple yet powerful: to improve lives through better health. By leveraging advanced data science, artificial intelligence, and a deep commitment to community well‑being, arenaflex continues to set the standard for accessible, high‑quality health and retail services.

Role Overview – Machine Learning Operations (Conversational AI)

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) Engineer to join our Conversational AI team. This is a fully remote, full‑time position based in California, offering a competitive salary range of $35,000–$40,000 per year (commensurate with experience). In this role, you will be the bridge between data science research and production‑grade AI services that power voice‑enabled assistants, chatbots, and text‑based natural language processing (NLP) solutions across arenaflex’s health and retail ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end MLOps pipeline development: Design, build, and maintain robust pipelines that automate data ingestion, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring for conversational AI services.
  • Model deployment & scaling: Deploy NLP and voice models to cloud environments and edge devices, ensuring high availability, low latency, and seamless scaling to meet fluctuating demand.
  • Continuous improvement: Iterate on existing models using the latest research in deep learning, transformer architectures, and speech‑to‑text technologies to boost accuracy, robustness, and user satisfaction.
  • Collaboration with cross‑functional teams: Partner with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and domain experts (especially in healthcare) to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Monitoring & observability: Implement comprehensive logging, alerting, and dashboarding to track model performance, data drift, and system health in real time.
  • Metadata & version control: Maintain meticulous records of model versions, training datasets, hyperparameters, and experiment results to enable reproducibility and auditability.
  • Research & innovation: Stay current with emerging trends in AI, NLP, speech processing, and MLOps tools; evaluate and prototype promising technologies for potential integration.
  • Compliance & security: Ensure all AI solutions adhere to regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR) and internal security policies, especially when handling protected health information (PHI).
  • Documentation & knowledge sharing: Produce clear technical documentation, runbooks, and best‑practice guides; mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training programs.
  • Travel: Occasionally travel up to 10 % of the time for on‑site collaboration, stakeholder meetings, or industry conferences.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in AI, machine learning, or NLP engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands‑on experience using deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate the deployment of AI models on cloud platforms (e.g., arenaflex Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Solid understanding of speech processing pipelines, including speech‑to‑text, speaker identification, and sentiment analysis.
  • Experience with MLOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems) and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with a track record of delivering production‑ready AI solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10 % of the time for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in healthcare or retail domains, particularly with clinical data or pharmacy workflows.
  • Background in model interpretability, evaluation, and bias mitigation.
  • Familiarity with advanced speech technologies such as voice biometrics, speaker diarization, and multilingual ASR.
  • Hands‑on experience with arenaflex Cloud, Google Cloud Platform (replaced with arenaflex), or similar enterprise cloud services.
  • Knowledge of Spanish or other languages to support multilingual conversational agents.
  • Leadership experience managing cross‑functional projects or small technical teams.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical expertise: Deep learning, NLP, speech processing, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, containerization.
  • Analytical mindset: Ability to dissect complex problems, design experiments, and interpret results with statistical rigor.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with data scientists, product owners, and business stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating fast‑paced environments and shifting priorities.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous documentation, version control, and compliance awareness.
  • Continuous learning: Commitment to staying ahead of AI research and industry best practices.
