Why This Role Matters

At arenaflex, the Customer Service Representative is the front line of our brand experience. You will be the friendly face that greets shoppers, the knowledgeable guide who helps them find the perfect product, and the diligent team member who keeps the store floor organized and inviting. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of service and presentation that keep our customers returning week after week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Greeting & Assistance: Welcome every shopper with a warm smile, answer questions, and provide personalized product recommendations that align with their needs.
  • Sales Support & Promotion: Actively promote featured merchandise, highlight special offers, and suggest complementary items to increase basket size and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Merchandise Organization: Restock shelves, arrange displays, and ensure that products are presented neatly and attractively on the sales floor.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on stock levels, report low‑inventory situations to team leads, and assist in the replenishment process to avoid out‑of‑stock scenarios.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and customer‑ready environment by tidying aisles, sweeping floors, and adhering to visual merchandising standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, department managers, and fellow associates to achieve daily operational goals and deliver a seamless shopping experience.
  • Feedback & Continuous Improvement: Share customer insights and suggestions with management to help refine product assortments, store layout, and service protocols.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine enthusiasm for interacting with a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain product knowledge across multiple categories, from apparel to home goods.
  • Basic aptitude for stocking, inventory checks, and handling merchandise safely.
  • Professional appearance suitable for a retail environment, including closed‑toe shoes and adherence to dress code policies.
  • Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and the capacity to follow clear directions from supervisors and team leads.
  • Flexibility to work either of the two daily shift options (9 AM – 2 PM or 3 PM – 8 PM) and willingness to adjust as business needs evolve.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Prior experience in a fast‑paced retail or customer‑service setting, especially within an off‑price or discount environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions, operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, and process returns or exchanges accurately.
  • Basic math proficiency for inventory counts and price checks.
  • Proactive problem‑solving mindset—able to address customer concerns calmly and efficiently.
  • Team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to assist colleagues during busy periods, such as holiday sales or promotional events.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus, helping to serve Brooklyn’s diverse community more effectively.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Communication: Clear, courteous, and confident verbal interaction with customers and teammates.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate product placement, inventory tracking, and adherence to visual standards.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Time Management: Efficiently balance multiple tasks—customer assistance, stocking, and store upkeep—within each shift.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintaining enthusiasm and professionalism, even during high‑traffic periods.
