Utilization Management Nurse Consultant

Conduct utilization reviews and make decisions regarding the appropriate use of healthcare resources for Aetna members. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance teams to ensure cost-effective and quality care for patients. Utilize clinical expertise and knowledge to identify potential cost savings and improve healthcare outcomes. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of utilization reviews and communicate findings to relevant parties. Participate in case management and care coordination activities to ensure seamless and effective care for members. Educate and train healthcare providers and insurance teams on utilization management best practices and guidelines. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in healthcare policies and regulations to inform decision-making processes. Advocate for patients and ensure their needs and preferences are considered in the utilization management process. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies for improving healthcare outcomes and reducing costs. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously enhance the utilization management process. Provide support and guidance to less experienced utilization management nurses.
