Logistics Operations Supervisor, Cold Chain Management
Our client, a leading provider of supply chain solutions with a specialization in temperature-sensitive goods, is seeking an experienced and proactive Logistics Operations Supervisor to oversee their critical cold chain management operations. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of refrigerated and frozen logistics, regulatory compliance, and team leadership within a demanding warehouse environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and timely delivery of perishable and temperature-controlled products, optimizing operational efficiency, and managing a team of warehouse associates. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities: Supervise daily warehouse operations within the cold chain environment, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping of temperature-sensitive goods. Ensure adherence to strict temperature control protocols and maintain optimal conditions within refrigerated and frozen storage areas. Monitor inventory levels and implement efficient stock rotation practices (e.g., FEFO - First Expired, First Out). Manage and motivate a team of warehouse associates, providing training, performance feedback, and fostering a productive work environment. Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce handling times, and minimize product damage. Coordinate with transportation carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring on-time performance and compliance with delivery requirements. Implement and enforce all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse, particularly those relevant to cold chain operations and equipment operation. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, manage orders, and generate operational reports. Investigate and resolve any operational discrepancies, product quality issues, or customer complaints related to cold chain logistics. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance, cost reduction, and service quality. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, specifically within cold chain or temperature-controlled logistics. Strong knowledge of cold chain principles, including temperature monitoring, product integrity, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, HACCP). Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other logistics software. Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting. Ability to work in refrigerated and/or frozen environments for extended periods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including occasional evenings and weekends as operational needs dictate. This role involves a hybrid work model, combining essential on-site operational supervision in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US , with strategic planning and reporting conducted remotely.
