Senior Buyer - Indirect Procurement

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their team in Indianapolis, Indiana, US . This role operates on a hybrid model, offering a blend of remote flexibility and in-office collaboration. The Senior Buyer will manage the procurement process for a variety of indirect goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and building strong relationships with suppliers to support the company's operational needs. Key Responsibilities: Lead the procurement process for indirect spend categories, including but not limited to office supplies, IT equipment, marketing services, and facilities management. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on established criteria such as cost, quality, reliability, and service. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value. Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize the supply base for indirect categories. Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and conduct regular business reviews. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their procurement needs and provide solutions. Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities. Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner. Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems. Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and supplier performance. Assist in the resolution of supplier-related issues and disputes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on indirect spend. Proven experience in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Solid understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain principles. Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with e-procurement tools and P2P systems is a plus.
