Working Hours and Location This is a fully remote role open to candidates located in the United States. The successful candidate must be able to work standard U.S. Eastern Time business hours to collaborate effectively with teammates and clients. Currently, we are prioritizing hiring in the following states due to employment and compliance requirements: AZ, FL, IN, KY, MI, MO, OH, NC, PA, TN, TX, WI. Please note that we may be unable to hire in certain states due to compliance constraints. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States. At this time, Grants Plus is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position, now or in the future. Occasional travel for in-person meetings or events may be required. The Role The Associate Grants Consultant supports nonprofit clients by contributing to high-quality grant strategy, grant research, grant planning, proposal writing, and client deliverables. This role is a strong fit for someone who has grant writing experience, understands how nonprofits pursue funding, and wants to grow as a consultant in a team-based client service environment. In this role, you will:

  • Write and support grant proposals, grant narratives, research summaries, and other client deliverables.
  • Conduct grant research and prospect analysis to identify funding opportunities aligned with client needs.
  • Contribute to grant strategy and planning work that helps clients strengthen their grant-seeking approach.
  • Communicate with clients and teammates to support clear expectations, strong project management, and timely follow-through.
  • Track client engagement details, deadlines, tasks, and deliverables accurately in company systems.
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver work that meets Grants Plus quality standards, client scopes, and time allocations.
  • Use approved AI tools to support drafting, summarizing, research organization, and workflow efficiency, while applying human review, sound judgment, confidentiality, and quality control.
  • Support conversations about continuing or expanding client engagements by identifying client needs, successes, and opportunities.
  • Participate in peer learning, professional development, and internal projects that strengthen client service.

  • Attention to Detail: You track deadlines, organize information, maintain accurate records, and produce polished work.
  • Project Management: You can balance multiple client engagements, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaboration: You work well in a team-based environment, share information, ask questions, and welcome feedback.
  • Responsible AI Use: You are familiar and comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency, organize information, and support drafting while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and client-ready quality.
  • Growth Orientation: You are curious, coachable, accountable, and interested in developing as a grant consultant.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who bring:

  • At least 1 - 2 years of experience with grant writing, grant seeking, nonprofit development, prospect research, grant proposal review, or consulting.
  • Understanding of grant-seeking best practices, funder expectations, and nonprofit development strategies.
  • Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate information into clear and compelling grant-related materials.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines, details, multiple priorities, and client-facing work.
  • Ability to use technology to communicate, manage work, track client details, and collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity and comfort using AI tools to support writing, research, summarizing, organization, or workflow efficiency, paired with strong judgment and quality control.

Grants Plus has standardized salaries based on position, no matter where you live. This is a full-time salaried position. The starting salary for this role begins at $59,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, qualifications, and alignment with organizational needs. Other benefits include:
