[Hiring] Senior Manager, Animal Relocation - Operations and Fleet @ASPCA
Role Description In this high-impact role, the Senior Manager, Animal Relocation – Operations and Fleet will collaborate and build strong relationships with Procurement, Facilities, Fleet, and key internal and external vendors and stakeholders to provide strategic oversight of the Animal Relocation fleet. This position is responsible for the proactive lifecycle management of all vehicles, ensuring they are meticulously maintained, tracked, stocked and meet the highest standards of safety and performance. A critical priority of this role is ensuring the continuous availability and operational readiness of the fleet to facilitate the seamless, nationwide humane transport of animals. The Senior Manager will execute comprehensive asset and inventory management, overseeing appropriate equipment selection, procurement, and optimal stocking levels across all six waystations/storage facilities and the Irving Park Warehouse. The Senior Manager, Animal Relocation – Operations and Fleet reports directly to the Director, Relocation – Logistics and has 1 direct report.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to use inventory systems knowledge of asset management, compliance with regulations, vehicle maintenance, repairs and fleet management.
- Proven history of building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and be responsive to requests.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and coach; experience with conflict resolution.
- Ability to quickly, calmly, and efficiently adjust to changes in direction and re-prioritize work.
- Comfort and experience with learning new technology on a regular basis.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word); experience with Airtable, Excel, or a similar database program.
- Ability to exemplify ASPCA’s core values and behavioral competencies.
- Fear Free® certified, or within 60 days of employment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 6 years overall professional experience required.
- 2 years’ professional experience in vehicle management and maintenance required; experience in fleet management strongly preferred.
- Experience managing staff required.
- Experience working within the field of animal welfare preferred; experience with companion animal relocation strongly preferred.
- Experience working hands-on with animals that were not animals you owned in the following settings are a plus: experience in animal transport or relocation, veterinary hands-on animal care, animal control or as an animal shelter staff member.
- Experience with asset tracking and inventory control strongly preferred.
- Experience with a cloud-based Fleet Management System (FMS), such as Fleetio, which is designed to centralize and automate the lifecycle of vehicles and equipment, strongly preferred.
