Journalism Internship Program Canyon News is an independent adjudicated newspaper based in Beverly Hills covering Los Angeles neighborhoods including Bel Air, Brentwood, Griffith Park, Hollywood Hills, Laurel Canyon, Los Feliz, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Melrose, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Topanga Canyon, West Hollywood, Westwood, and Woodland Hills. We are currently accepting applications for our Journalism & Media Training Internship Program. This is a hands-on opportunity for students, aspiring journalists, creatives, and career changers who want real publishing experience, portfolio development, and newsroom training. This is an unpaid internship with stipend opportunities, school credit eligibility, professional references, and portfolio-building experience. Hours are flexible and independently set. Writing & Reporting Write news, features, entertainment, opinion, and community stories Receive published bylines in print and online Learn interviewing, research, and editorial writing skills Editing Assist with proofreading and editorial review Learn newsroom editing standards and publishing workflows Help maintain quality and accuracy across content Photography Capture community events, entertainment, and local stories Build a professional photography portfolio Photo credits published online and in print Social Media & Digital Media Create and schedule social content Assist with audience growth and engagement Learn media branding and digital publishing strategy Marketing & Promotions Support audience outreach and promotional campaigns Help expand readership and community awareness Gain practical media marketing experience Administration Assist with newsroom coordination and operations Support scheduling, communications, and organizational tasks Learn media business operations behind the scenes Advertising Sales Help connect local businesses with advertising opportunities Gain sales and client communication experience Commission opportunities available Internship Benefits Published bylines and portfolio experience Professional references and mentorship Internship stipend opportunities School credit eligibility Flexible remote schedule Hybrid opportunities from our Beverly Hills office Real newsroom and media industry experience Many of our interns have gone on to work professionally in journalism, media, communications, entertainment, and marketing.
