Job Summary
We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Hardware Store Clerk to provide exceptional customer service, operate cash registers, and assist with inventory management in a fast-paced hardware store environment. Key Responsibilities:
* Operate cash registers efficiently and accurately to process customer transactions.
- Operate forklift or skidsteer to move, load, and unload products.
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining product displays to ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing.
- Engage with customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and promote products through effective upselling techniques.
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase new items and encourage sales.
- Maintain knowledge of retail math to assist in inventory management and sales reporting.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a hardware store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic knowledge of cash register operations and retail math principles.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership skills when supervising others.
- Experience with product demonstrations and sales techniques is an advantage.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a busy environment.
