Job Summary
As a 100% remote Medical Insurance Customer Service Advisor, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding support to patients, explaining billing procedures, proactively reaching out to patients with billing policy changes, and administering our Financial Assistance Program (FAP). You'll serve as a trusted point of contact for patients, addressing concerns, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Communicate with new patients to explain billing procedures and proactively reach out to patients with billing policy changes
- Address patient concerns, resolve issues, and escalate to management as needed
- Administer the Financial Assistance Program (FAP), manage updates, and communicate with patients and departments
- Input data into our computer platform to maintain accurate customer records
- Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and work independently with minimal supervision
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Collections, verification, and/or analysis experience; customer service call center experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong customer service acumen, effective verbal and listening communication skills, and attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency, ability to quickly learn new systems (Lynx and CPR+), and Microsoft applications
Essential Qualifications
* 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or collections role
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and resolving complex issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn new systems and software
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a healthcare or insurance environment
- Familiarity with medical billing and insurance procedures
- Certification in customer service or a related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
