Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Lab Data Entry Specialist to join our team on an overnight shift. As a key member of our diagnostic lab team, you'll be responsible for accurately processing and entering data into our laboratory information system, handling a wide range of specimens, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities

* Process incoming samples and input data into the computer system, creating labels for samples as needed

• Handle enclosed samples with PPE, but do not directly touch open swabs or perform tests on the samples
• Work with COVID-19 samples, as well as other samples such as blood, stool, urine, biopsies, and other human samples
• Review, transcribe, and enter demographic and specimen data into the laboratory information system with 100% accuracy
• Recognize specimen problems and refer to designated personnel
• File Requisition Slips, glass slides, and paraffin blocks, assisting Laboratory Aide(s) as needed
• Perform supply maintenance and clean-up duties to help workflow and efficiency

Essential Qualifications

* 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a data entry or specimen processing role

• Ability to type fast, with a minimum of 30 words per minute
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with laboratory information systems and software

• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols
• Certification in a related field, such as medical laboratory technology or laboratory science
• Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients
