Job Summary: The AVP, Finance is responsible for providing financial oversight, leadership and support to the market/corporate and ensures the department proactively collaborates with and provides support for analyses being conducted by areas outside the Finance Department. Essential Functions: Manages the execution of the annual budget/quarterly forecast including detailed development of admin expense and consolidated views for respective VP’s (including summary of admin changes for internal, board and committee reporting, growth and savings activities) including providing transparency to executives for open positions, bonus and other compensation related reporting Works with senior management and team to implement new business activities and process improvements including gaps within Finance and throughout the organization in an efficient and effective manner Works with leadership to develop strategy supporting the FP&A function driving appropriate cost savings and efficiencies within the company and department Be a strategic thought partner for business owners and finance counterparts focusing on growth efforts and efficiency of processes Responsible for budget to actual analysis monthly, including meeting with the business owners and executives to review and determine appropriate adjustments and coordinate adjustments as applicable Provide support for proforma work related to RFPs, mergers and acquisitions for new business activities including administrative cost projections including staffing models, allocations, and direct market and product costs. Support Marketplace and Medicare/DSNP bids including but not limited to staffing models and admin expense impacts Responsible for end-to-end planning process including project management oversight, ROI analysis and accruals, participating and leading project governance meetings Responsible for contract reviews for administrative costs Guides and oversees the process for compilation of data and reporting used to prepare strategic plans, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts Responsible for oversight of Workforce Planning tool (SAC) to be utilized for existing and new business projections including forecasting metrics to be utilized during monthly close process Coordinate the annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasting process for applicable market and actuary. Support the strategic planning process by providing long term financial projections reflecting the assumptions outlined in the strategic plan. Provides insight into the risk sensitivity associated with the current and future business drivers Responsible for ensuring budget policy and procedures are in compliance with Model Audit Rule requirements for Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting including assisting with ORSA report Participate in various meetings with leadership including but not limited to strategic planning, enterprise risk management, business development, as applicable to assist in risk and financial forecast analysis Perform ad hoc and trending analysis – both proactively and as requested Responsible for staffing decisions, management of departmental staff and expense budget Develop, implement and modify processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness Utilize key accounting and reporting experience and knowledge to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of general ledger account activity in accordance with GAAP or STAT as applicable Perform any other job duties as requested Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent graduate degree is preferred A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in accounting/finance, to include a minimum of eight (8) years of management experience, is required Managed care or healthcare experience is preferred Competencies, Knowledge and Skills: Familiar with variety of financial analysis concepts, practices and procedures Strategic thinker providing ideas to influence the long-term success of the team and company Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Familiar with variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT) Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office Ability to interact with all levels of management, as well as external audit management Ability to lead and direct the work of others including the development, motivation and rewarding of staff Knowledgeable of internal control framework Decision making/problem solving skills Critical listening, thinking, and analytical skills Knowledge of SAP, SAC, BPC and/or business intelligence (BI) tools is preferred but not required Detail-oriented Licensure and Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Account (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, or related certification is preferred Working Conditions: General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time May be required to travel occasionally Compensation range $150,000-$300,000. CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
