The Role

As a Data Analyst – Information Investigator, you'll be responsible for analyzing complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions. You'll work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive growth and improvement. Your expertise will be essential in helping us understand our customers' behavior, preferences, and needs, and in developing strategies to meet those needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Translate complex business questions into SQL, including precise cohorting, estimations, filtering criteria, and aggregations

• Communicate complex patterns and drivers to a wide range of colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise, both in oral presentations and written reports
• Collaborate with other Analysis teams to analyze the performance of key business initiatives across customer, engagement, and marketing areas
• Develop and maintain functional dashboards in Tableau and Looker to track performance over time, enable effective exploratory analysis, and provide self-serve tools for partners
• Partner closely with business stakeholders (Product, Business Activities, Finance, Marketing, etc.) to identify and capitalize on opportunities for improved customer retention

Essential Capabilities

* Bachelor's degree in Analysis, Software Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Marketing, or related field

• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to apply business acumen to data analysis and recommendations
• Ability to think critically, examine and interpret first-party and third-party data
• Experience managing large datasets and deciphering data patterns using multiple data sources and tools
• Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
• Strong logical and technical skills to handle issues, investigate root causes, quickly propose potential solutions, detail changes, and communicate organizational impact
• Verifiable experience in detailing data requirements, data methodology, data rules (normalization, cleansing, and validation)

Preferred Capabilities

* Experience in the streaming media industry and supporting a direct-to-consumer or membership-based product

• Experience presenting and contributing to data stories that are shared with key stakeholders
