Agricultural Sales Representative— Water Conservation Tech We seek a motivated and experienced Agricultural Sales Associate who wants to drive the sales of our unique innovation: a soil amendment called Liquid Natural Clay (LNC). LNC is proven to provide a long-term increase in moisture and nutrient retention, helping growers to overcome the increasing challenges of droughts, water price inflation and scarcity, soil degradation, and related labor challenges by enabling resilient, sustainable, and profitable soil health in the U.S. Southwest. In this role, you will have responsibility for direct client coverage. Further, you will work with Desert Control’s team of scientists, researchers, and management to create successful customer interactions and build the Desert Control brand throughout the region By joining Desert Control, you will be part of the innovative and exciting ag-tech solution, as we scale up in the American Southwest. WHO IS A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE? You have natural skills to establish strong relationships with field personnel, peers, and customers, and a deep network of permanent crop growers (especially fruit and nut trees) within the California Central Valley. You have a solid foundation of agronomic principles to help customers to understand how LNC can improve their soil, including concepts of water use efficiency, cation exchange capacity, and soil characteristics. Familiarity with the business of agriculture, including the landscape of economic, resource, and regulatory pressures within the region. You thrive in a dynamic work environment where being part of a growing multinational soil health and water conservation business inspires you to excel. You excel equally at working autonomously and as a part of a team, with a documented history of commercial success. The successful candidate creates, develops, and maintains profitable customer relationships as Desert Control grows within the defined sales territory. KEY PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES INCLUDE -Experience selling agricultural products to fruit and nut tree growers in the California Central Valley -Establishing strong and sustainable relationships with field personnel, peers, and customers -Ability to build trust with customers and demonstrate the highest moral standards, acting as a liaison and ambassador for Desert Control before, during, and after sales. -Successful track record in selling large projects in a consultative manner to the target market -Strong relationships with growers in the territory -Understanding of the business of agriculture -Applying a positive and proactive mindset to inspire and influence -Thriving in a dynamic work environment with multiple tasks and activities -Working autonomously; self-driven with minimal supervision required -Proficiency with MS Windows and applications -Proficiency with CRM systems such as HubSpot -Capability to travel by vehicle to cover the defined territory; valid driver's license required -Proficient in office and field work to close sales SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY DELIVERABLES INCLUDE -Achieve sales results from lead identification to closed deals, ensuring positive customer references that become ambassadors for Desert Control -Identify new customers, understand their business, assess their needs, and develop plans and actions for project execution (production and application of LNC) in a growing market -Network with industry representatives (irrigation, seed, fertilizer, etc) to increase sales opportunities -Build product and market knowledge to add understanding and credibility -Support the Desert Control team to attain performance goals -Become a primary contact between customers and Desert Control, including deliveries, payment processing, complaint handling, after-sales service, etc. -Documenting and reporting sales activities, including objectives and action plans for the region -Serve as point person to manage support in the territory, including after-sales activities such as data capturing and monitoring services. -Responsible for the sales territory, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis -Follow payment and credit policies and define risk for the company -Implement marketing, communications, and sales plans -Present a professional image to our customers in all interactions (verbal, digital, and face-to-face) through personal appearance and overall demeanor -Perform these and all other duties as assigned by Desert Control management in a professional and efficient manner COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $100k-$130k (DOE and proven performance) plus incentive bonus/commission Benefits: Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, 401k, Reimbursements for phone and mileage or company vehicle JOB TYPE -Full time MORE ABOUT DESERT CONTROL Desert Control specializes in climate-smart ag-tech solutions to combat desertification, soil degradation, and water scarcity.
