Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Healthcare Patient Customer Service Representative to join our remote team. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional patient experiences through phone and written communication. Key Responsibilities
* Answer patient calls regarding EOBs and research balances
- Manage patient refunds
- Process patient payments
- Provide a positive customer service experience to clients, guests, and patients
- Consistently demonstrate extensive attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- Effectively communicate by phone and in writing with patients
- Research and resolve patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
* A minimum of one year of experience in medical billing and collections required
- Current knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
- Thorough understanding of EOBs and the ability to effectively communicate by phone and in writing with patients
- Consistently demonstrate extensive attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to clients, guests, and patients
- Self-motivated, multitasking, and a team player
Essential Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business, or communications) preferred
- Experience in medical billing and collections, with a focus on patient communication and customer service
- Strong knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement, including commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate by phone and in writing with patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
- Certification in medical billing or a related field (e.g., CPC, CMC, or CMCS)
- Experience with patient engagement and retention strategies
