Job Summary
As a Fleet Material Handling Technician at arenaflex, you will be responsible for performing essential analytical and repair work on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including cars, trucks, vans, forklifts, and material handling equipment. This is a remote position, and you will work independently with a high level of autonomy. You will be responsible for analyzing vehicle and equipment failures, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling parts as needed, completing oil and filter changes, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze vehicle and equipment failures and perform repairs as needed
- Complete oil and filter changes
- Take guidance from senior experts and managers
- Use PC-based diagnostics to interact with modern truck interfaces
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Answer customer calls and respond to customer inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Capabilities
* High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach, lift, carry, move, and bend
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer skills, including email and internet browsing
- Familiarity with safety maintenance programs
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems
- Essential PC skills
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and exercises
Preferred Experience
* Previous experience working under limited supervision (performing work independently, working from a distance from direct manager)
- Previous experience working outside (making street decisions, answering breakdowns, working in outdoor parking lots)
- Previous experience working in shift work (being available to come in at a moment's notice, every day availability, second/third shift work, flexible workweeks)
- Previous experience using shop equipment (motor cranes, welding, replacing tires, small tools)
- Formal training in a technical industry (e.g., certification program, military training, technical/junior college)
