The Role
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you'll play a critical role in driving business growth and improving customer experiences through data-driven insights and innovative solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations to support business decision-making
- Partnering with operations, business teams, economists, and machine learning teams to consult, develop, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), automated reporting and process solutions, and data infrastructure improvements to meet business needs
- Developing end-to-end automation of pipelines for applications and machine learning models
- Applying analytical skills to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complex data sets
- Serving as a liaison with business and technical teams to achieve project objectives, requiring data gathering, problem-solving, modeling, and communication of insights and recommendations

Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, and other big data platforms
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, mathematics, or statistics
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
