Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team, providing top-notch support and maintenance services for our equipment and facilities. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our Circulation Center (DC) offices and equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and collaborating with our Expert Maintenance Specialist to perform preventive, repair, and predictive maintenance on advanced mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and reporting potential safety hazards related to material-handling equipment or distribution center offices.
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks and minor mechanical repairs to material-handling equipment and other distribution center gear.
- Utilize the Modernized Support Management Framework (MSMF) to maintain distribution equipment and gear according to manufacturer's recommendations and best maintenance practices.
- Collaborate with the Expert Maintenance Specialist to perform preventive, repair, and predictive maintenance on advanced mechanical equipment.
- Work with the Equivalent Opportunity Manager to ensure compliance with disability and veterans' employment initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time spent on tasks and equipment maintenance.
Essential Capabilities
* Associate's degree in Modern or Support Technology, or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in an office, US Military, distribution, or manufacturing environment, or 4 years of experience in a similar setting
- Knowledge of modern power systems, including single-phase and three-phase power, engines, safety devices, and photo sensors
- At least 6 months of experience with Programmable Logic Regulator (PLC) programming standards
- At least 6 months of experience transferring and downloading Programmable Logic Regulators (PLCs), System Control Programming (SCSs), and scanners
- At least 6 months of experience with devices such as photo sensors, Programmable Logic Regulators (PLCs), remote Info/Result modules (I/OS), servo drives, and variable frequency drives
- Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet and lift parts and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds
- Ability to perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with advanced mechanical equipment, such as conveyor systems and material-handling equipment
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for working at heights and with heavy equipment
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
