Job Description
As a Customer Service Representative on our Not-for-Profit Support Team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service to callers who need assistance with scholarship applications, processing, and other related inquiries. You will be the first point of contact for our customers, and your exceptional communication and problem-solving skills will ensure that their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat in a timely and professional manner
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a fair and empathetic manner
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information on scholarship applications, processing, and other related topics
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues
- Meet or exceed performance metrics, including first-call resolution, customer satisfaction, and average handle time
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to provide expert advice to customers
- Participate in ongoing training and development to improve customer service skills and product knowledge
Essential Qualifications:
* At least one year of customer service or call center experience
- English proficiency (written and verbal)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering an excellent customer service experience
- Ability to remain empathetic, personable, and compassionate during sometimes difficult, tense situations
- Self-motivation, detail-orientation, and ability to multitask
- Accurate typing and keyboard skills; comfort with PC/internet navigation
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in a non-profit or education-related field
- Knowledge of scholarship applications and processing
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Certification in customer service or a related field (e.g., Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR))
