As a Senior Analyst, Content Material Valuation, you will be part of a dynamic team that works closely with key stakeholders from various business units, including Finance, Studio Finance, Participations, and Controllership.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Analyst, Content Material Valuation, your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing arm's length-based content pricing and preparing quarterly close and economic planning deliverables for scripted and unscripted content certified with Hulu and Disney+ globally.
- Consolidating quarterly regional content valuation submissions and identifying key variance drivers and distilling effects into actionable insights for senior management.
- Assisting in preparing long-range and pricing planning deliverables, as needed.
- Functioning as the primary point of contact to key stakeholders at DTC Finance, Studio Finance, Participations, and Controllership.
- Partnering with Finance stakeholders to identify and improve process efficiencies and best practices.
- Curating and synthesizing large amounts of data to draw conclusions and make recommendations resulting in actionable insights.
- Mechanically tuning and maintaining content performance (including Nielsen scores, critical review scores, and industry awards) for broadcast and cable primetime applications.
- Participating in various ad-hoc projects to introduce new concepts and improve knowledge of key standards across the spectrum of content distribution and licensing.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of recent experience in financial analysis, finance, and/or 2+ years from a Big Four CPA firm.
- Self-starter, innovative, flexible, and proactive individual who is willing to pitch in anywhere needed.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision; potential to scope, identify, and execute price-introduced procedures and process upgrades.
- Robust challenge control abilities with the capacity to manage and establish targets, manipulate multiple priorities, and pivot quickly based on immediate needs of the business.
- Capability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and communicate across all levels of management.
- Ability to work with huge data sets and analytical tools with a proven capability to research quantitative and qualitative data.
- Interest in detail, accuracy, agency, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent work ethic, and capacity to work under stress in a quick-paced and ambiguous environment.
- Choice to work with numbers, perform analysis, and maintain accurate supporting documentation of work done.
- Comfortable rationalizing and justifying selections made and tactics applied, but flexible with switching path if situations dictate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), strong financial modeling skills required.
- Required understanding and application of pivot tables and advanced Excel formulation such as INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, VSTACK, and nested IF statements.
- Ardor for the entertainment industry and television programming; content licensing experience is a plus.
Training:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, or other quantitative discipline is required.
