Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Digital Document Conversion & Quality Control

In this role, you'll play a vital part in converting large volumes of paper tax records into secure digital files, supporting the IRS Criminal Investigation Division's Frivolous Return Program (FRP).

Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
- Preparing paper records for scanning, including removing staples, sorting, batching, and other tasks
- Operating high-speed scanners to digitize documents, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Working swing shifts when needed to maximize scanner use and meet production goals
- Following training from IRS staff on digitization procedures and adhering to established protocols
- Reviewing scanned files for clarity, accuracy, and completeness, with a focus on quality control and data integrity
- Collaborating with IRS staff on secondary reviews and quality checks to ensure the highest level of accuracy
- Fixing formatting issues or errors in scanned documents, with a focus on attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Keeping daily records of scanning volume and performance, with a focus on data management and reporting
- Conducting detailed quality checks on scanned images and processed files, with a focus on accuracy and completeness
- Collaborating with FRP Government staff on secondary quality reviews to validate determinations and ensure data accuracy
- Proofreading, correcting, and validating processed data for accuracy and completeness, with a focus on attention to detail and quality control
- Updating daily scanning logs and processing metrics in accordance with government reporting requirements, with a focus on data management and reporting
Knowledge & Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Knowledge of document scanning and digital file workflows, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Basic understanding of file management and formatting, with a focus on attention to detail and organization
- Strong attention to detail with repetitive tasks, with a focus on quality control and data integrity
- Ability to follow structured procedures consistently, with a focus on adherence to established protocols
- Comfortable using basic office software and equipment, with a focus on technical skills and adaptability
- Organized, dependable, and able to communicate clearly, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
Preferred Experience
While not required, experience operating industrial-grade scanners, performing data entry, quality control, or file validation, and working in a government, records, legal, or investigative setting would be beneficial.
Education
A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree preferred.
Location
This role is based in Ogden, UT 84401.
Telework
This role is not eligible for telework.
Clearance
U.S. citizenship is required as it supports the U.S. federal government.
Client
This role is with the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Travel
Travel is not required.
Work Hours
This role is full-time, with 40 hours per week, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Applicants will be subject to a background investigation. The individual's primary workstation is located in an office area, with a low to moderate noise level. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
